System Administrator / Developer

Location: Golden, CO (Hybrid – VA NAC)
Position Title: Systems Engineer
Salary: $89,000-$116,000
Clearance: Ability to obtain Public Trust

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator / Developer to provide enterprise sustainment and modernization support for the VA National Acquisition Center Contract Management (NAC CM) system. This role supports front‑end applications, hosted environments, and modernization initiatives while ensuring system stability, security, and compliance with federal IT standards.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of system administration expertise and application development experience, with the ability to troubleshoot complex environments and support ongoing enhancement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and configure Windows and Linux servers supporting NAC CM operations

• Manage and sustain IIS‑hosted application environments

• Perform system patching, certificate renewals, and security updates

• Support Excel tool modernization (2021 → 2024 compatibility upgrades)

• Troubleshoot and resolve TEST/PROD environment discrepancies

• Monitor automated jobs and rerun failed processes as needed

• Support cloud migration planning and execution (if directed)

• Implement secure configurations aligned with federal cybersecurity standards

• Provide tiered help desk support following the established incident priority matrix

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of system administration and application development experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Operating System Certification (Windows or Linux)

• .NET or Java Certification

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience supporting enterprise or federal IT environments

• Strong understanding of IIS, server hardening, and secure configuration baselines

• Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and CI/CD concepts

• Ability to troubleshoot multi‑tier applications and integration points

• Strong communication and documentation skills
