Position : Sybase DBA Expert
Work Location: Princeton, NJ
Duration : 6 months

Job Description:
•    Database Administrator who has 14- 18 years plus experience with Sybase database administration.
•    Database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with Sybase/Oracle in a production environment
•    Administering, maintaining, developing and recommending policies and procedures for ensuring the performance, availability, security and integrity of the company’s databases and systems
•    Proactively monitoring production databases for optimum performance. Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilization
•    Identifying and resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues and other database issues
•    Performing regular deployments, scheduled maintenance and house-keeping.
•    Anticipating hardware requirements and storage capacity planning for production, test and development environments and implementing replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies
•    Ensuring availability and integrity all database environments
Skill Set
•    14 - 18 + years in Sybase Database Administration
•    6 years in performance tuning of Sybase/Oracle
•    Supported multiple servers and databases on 24 X 7 environments
•    5+ years of Transact-SQL experience in high volume transaction processing environment
•    Strong experience on performance tuning on Sybase/Oracle; experience with data integrity, data retention
•    Strong experience in database performance optimization
•    Advanced knowledge of SQL Profiler and server side traces
•    Solid understanding of clustering and RDBMS storage optimization
•         Strong Sybase ASE and
•         Good experience in Sybase IQ or MS SQL Server
