Description:
Answer and direct incoming calls to proper departments
Monitor code blue, fire, and gas alarm panels
Alert staff of emergency codes via paging systems and overhead announcements
Page on call physicians and medical staff when needed
Document and log all codes and call activity daily
The switchboard is a 24-hour department that is manned at all times.
Holidays and other shifts are rotated to accommodate staffing needs.
