We are now hiring SWIM CAMP COUNSELOR at our Outdoor Pools during the Summer 2026 season! We will train you!
WHAT YOU’LL DO: Being a swim camp counselor, you will be tasked with supervising and instructing participants in proper swim techniques and camp activities. Additional responsibilities include:
Teach participants appropriate skills outlined by the Starfish Aquatics Program.
Supervise participants in assigned camp groups.
Plan camp games and activities for each camp day.
Evaluate participant skill level and record appropriate level; communicate with participants and their parents on progress.
Prepare and complete necessary paperwork for each session.
Ensure that all Health Department and Starfish Standards are met.
Enforce Park District rules and safety practices.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Some high school education.
Must be at least 15 years of age pursuant to Starfish Aquatics Program guidelines by May 15, 2026.
1 year of experience including working with children preferred.
Ability to spend up to 100% of work time engaging in physical movement in water.
WHEN YOU’LL WORK:
Actual schedule varies based on your availability! Camp training will take place on May 29, 2026.
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
The anticipated starting pay for this position is $17/hour
This position falls under Pay Grade E with a pay range of $15.00 - $20.00.
