Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Sustainability Manager plays a critical role leading PACT’s sustainability initiatives under the PACT Sustainability Management Plan (SMP) and Sustainable Procurement during design and construction. This role is responsible for integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into all phases of the program—from design through construction and commissioning—while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, client sustainability goals, and industry best practices. This role will work closely with project teams, consultants, GTAA, regulators, and joint venture partners to manage sustainability risks while supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable project delivery in keeping with the PACT Environmental Management System.

Align project objectives with client ESG goals, airport sustainability frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Establish governance structures, reporting protocols, and sustainability KPIs across all sub-programs.
Lead initiatives related to greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, energy efficiency and electrification (e.g., equipment, fleets, facilities), and waste minimization and circular economy practices.
Oversee carbon tracking, reporting, and reduction planning across construction activities.
Support delivery of low-carbon design solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
Work closely with design partners, construction teams, and commercial (procurement, cost, risk) teams to ensure sustainability is embedded across all project phases.
Ensure alignment of sustainability efforts across all sub-programs.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, client sustainability commitments, and industry standards (e.g., LEED, Envision, ISO 14001 where applicable).
Prepare executive-level sustainability reports, dashboards, and updates.
Support with audits and environmental assessments.
Act as the primary sustainability subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with clients and regulatory bodies, joint venture partners, and community and environmental stakeholders.

Track emerging trends in sustainable infrastructure and integrate best practices.
Drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance and reporting.
Drive a culture of sustainability awareness and accountability across all project teams.
Provide leadership and direction to the Environmental Team, including mentorship and guidance, while driving a supportive Team culture.
Stay informed about emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and best practices to enhance project sustainability and compliance.
