Status: Full-Time (Flexibility required; 24/7 operations)
Salary: $19.50 per hour
Location: Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino

JOB SUMMARY
The Surveillance Operator is responsible for maintaining continuous observation of all gaming areas to ensure the protection of Tribal assets, compliance with gaming regulations, and the safety and security of operations. This position operates and monitors CCTV and video management systems to detect, document, and report suspicious, unusual, or illegal activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
The Surveillance Operator supports investigations by reviewing and preparing video footage, maintains accurate records, and communicates findings to appropriate personnel. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of gaming regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding confidentiality and integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Monitor Tribal assets by identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting the individual or entity for proper resolution
Maintain familiarity with Gaming Regulations set forth by the Tribal Gaming Commission (TGC), the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), the California Division of Gambling Control (State Compact), and Surveillance Department policies and procedures
Utilize necessary equipment to identify, record, document, and report illegal, suspicious, or unusual activities occurring on property
Coordinate with other departments when Surveillance discovers a matter requiring further investigation or attention
Maintain accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports
Suggest and recommend possible changes in policies and procedures of other departments to protect Tribal assets
Manage radio traffic, phone calls, and documentation of all Surveillance-related issues
Maintain working knowledge of all games offered by the Casino
Prepare reports and video footage as requested by Supervisors and Tribal Gaming personnel
Operate the Video Management Export System (VMS) view station and merge, cut, prepare, release, and archive video footage
Maneuver and operate the Surveillance Department database
Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity of all Surveillance Department and Casino information and activities
Communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel
Travel for training and meetings as required
Perform related and compatible duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to travel for required training and meetings
Must be able to work in a dimly lit and cool-temperature environment
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Must be able to pass a background investigation and suitability determination
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree from a two-year college or university
Associate degree in criminal justice, security, or related field
Previous experience in surveillance, security, or gaming operations
Knowledge of and experience with closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment
Familiarity with gaming regulations and compliance standards
Knowledge of basic card and gaming strategies
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
Strong observation and communication skills
Ability to detect schemes or cheating activity aimed at the company or its customers

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
