DEPARTMENT:         SPOKANE TRIBAL GAMING ENFORCEMENT DIVISION

SUPERVISOR:          SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR

LOCATION:               AIRWAY HEIGHTS, WA

STATUS:                   REGULAR FULL-TIME

RATE OF PAY:          $21.22 - $26.52 PER HOUR - DOE

INTRODUCTION:

The Surveillance Lead Operator reports to, and in conjunction with the Surveillance Supervisor, is responsible for all operator tasks and functions as well as assisting the Surveillance Supervisor in various tasks as assigned. The Surveillance Lead Operator assures the integrity of gaming is maintained at all times and does this through the use of clandestine surveillance techniques and technologies and reports any and all improprieties to the Surveillance Supervisor. This position, working together with Security, is charged with the responsibility of protecting assets of the enterprise and as well as employees, guests and visitors to the facility

 

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Monitors, understands and ensures compliance to policies and philosophies pertaining to loss prevention for designated facilities/operations.

Assures that all gaming activities conform to Tribal Regulations, Casino Policies & Procedures, Spokane Tribal Gaming Code, Spokane Tribal Compact, Internal Controls and the Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as adopted and implemented by the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.

Monitors designated facilities, including the casino operations, documenting any improprieties occurrences or noteworthy observations and reporting same, as prescribed, to Management and/or Tribal Gaming Agency.

Complies with legal, regulatory and administrative requirements that are applicable to the operations including, but not limited to, local, tribal, federal and NIGC.

Constantly surveys the casino floor activities and provides relief when surveillance staff operators are absent or unavailable and when activities on the casino floor are at high levels.

Ensures the protection of documents, records, files, footage, and that all such items are stored and maintained in accordance to, and in a manner consistent with, Spokane Tribal Compact, Spokane Tribal Gaming requirements, Surveillance Internal Control Standards and Regulations.

Assists the Surveillance Supervisor to develop and implement tests that pertain to, but not limited to, Surveillance Internal Controls, MICS, Casino Internal Controls, Gaming Code, Casino Handbook, LRP’s and departmental internal control procedures.

Assist the Supervisor to establish goals and objectives, in conjunction with the Investigator, to optimize the operating efficiencies of the Surveillance Department.

Requires availability for emergency callout to perform operator duties as may from time to time be necessary to maintain operational effectiveness.

Be prepared to testify at hearings, before quasi-judicial bodies, regulatory agencies and in courts of law as may from time to time be required.

Performs other duties, prepares reports, and conducts research as assigned. Such as work on special projects and investigations as assigned by the supervisor.

Assists in guidance and training of Surveillance team members; ensures adherence to work procedures and quality standards.

Assists the Surveillance Supervisor in the supervision and direction of Surveillance Operators in performing their duties and procedures of the company.

Assist Supervisor in daily paperwork.

Provide supervision and leadership in the supervisor’s absence.

Perform all duties of a Surveillance Operator when necessary.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS  AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

Must be able to work independently, be detail oriented (written and verbal), and have a consistent attendance record

Must be able to work rotating shift schedules at times including weekends (day shift, night shift, graveyard, peak operation hours)

Must be able to be flexible with schedule

Must be able to pass background investigation

Must have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to multi-task

Must possess excellent observational and communication skills

Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and be tribally insurable. A driving abstract may be requested annually at the applicant’s expense.

Must have experience with Windows based computer systems and Microsoft Office software

Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

Have a full understanding of the job duties and responsibilities of the Surveillance Operators.

Thorough knowledge of casino games and operations required.

Must have basic computer skills and be able to utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.

Must have the ability to interact with staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

five (5) years’ experience in Casino Gaming and/or Regulation of Gaming.

Two (2) years’ surveillance experience within last year.

Lead/Supervisor experience
