Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist II – Main OR for a top healthcare client.
This position plays a key role in supporting surgical teams and ensuring safe, efficient operating room procedures. The Surgical Technologist II works under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician to maintain sterile technique, manage instrumentation, and assist in high-quality perioperative patient care.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field in accordance with policy and regulatory standards.
• Accurately identify and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts per facility protocol.
• Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
• Support orientation and educational initiatives within the surgical department.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental activities.
Requirements:
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program required
• Military surgical technology training accepted
Experience
• Previous experience preferred but not required
Certifications/Licenses
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Active registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
