Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist II – Cath Lab for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, supporting complex interventional procedures that make a direct impact on patient lives. The Surgical Technologist will play a critical role in assisting cardiologists and nurses during invasive cardiovascular procedures, ensuring the highest standards of sterile technique, efficiency, and patient safety.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist physicians and nurses during cardiac and vascular catheterization, angioplasty, stenting, and other interventional procedures.
• Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and medical devices required for each procedure.
• Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout all stages of the operation.
• Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and functioning.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly during procedures.
• Document procedural details, prepare specimens, and support post-procedure clean-up and inventory.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24-hour Cath Lab coverage as required.
Requirements:
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technology Program.
• Eligible to register as a Surgical Technologist with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• Must hold one of the following:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential; or
• Proof of successful completion of a military surgical technology program.

Experience
• Cath Lab experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered.
Certifications/Licenses
• AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
Skills or Competencies
• Knowledge of sterile field setup and maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
