Position Summary

In this role you will play a crucial role by supporting the program managers in ensuring accuracy of design, meeting deadlines and increasing customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for surfacing plastic injection molds using design software's within the Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete engineering projects such as surfacing plastic injection molds

Overlay existing tooling for part variations and provide tooling impact studies to appropriate personnel

Responsible for interacting with internal personnel and customers at various stages to ensure quality tooling including providing documentation for customer approval

Ensure tool designs conform to customer standards and ensure mold functionality through Kinematic representation

Prepare daily reports detailing milestone deadlines of present and upcoming tool designs

As needed, offer input on maintaining and updating Engineering procedures

Incorporate all customer safety standards into all tool designs

As needed, make appropriate personnel aware of any hardware /software inadequacies that hinder productivity

Work closely with Designers and manufacturing personnel to produce quality and cost effective tooling

Participate in required meetings and training, as requested

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related (Preferred)

5+ years of related experience surfacing tooling/plastic injection molds

5+ years of experience with 3D modeling using CAD, Visi, NX or Solid Works preferred 

Must be able to understand components (i.e. lifters and slides)

Must be able to develop concepts

Must be able to work independently to scheduled workloads

Ability to perform under pressure and work independently

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required 

Ability to ensure quality standards are met

Strong attention to detail is required

Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills

Proficient in time management and communication skills
