Position Summary
Responsible for end-to-end production and inventory planning across multiple manufacturing sites and warehouses in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This role ensures optimal product availability for seasonal and event-driven demand (e.g., graduation cycles) while balancing production capacity, inventory investment, and service levels.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Capacity Planning
Develop and manage production plans across multiple facilities for diverse product lines (caps & gowns, yearbooks, diplomas, announcements, etc.)
Align manufacturing schedules with forecasted demand and peak seasonal cycles
Collaborate with plant managers to optimize capacity, labor, and throughput
Inventory & Replenishment Strategy
Oversee inventory planning across a multi-warehouse network
Set and manage safety stock levels, reorder points, and SKU segmentation
Balance service levels with inventory carrying costs and obsolescence risk
Demand Alignment
Partner with sales, marketing, and finance to drive demand planning inputs
Lead or support monthly demand planning
Translate forecasts into actionable production and distribution plans
Cross-Border & Network Coordination
Manage product flow across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, considering lead times, customs, and transportation constraints
Optimize warehouse stocking strategies based on regional demand
Seasonal & Event-Based Planning
Develop detailed plans for peak graduation seasons
Mitigate risks related to demand spikes, production bottlenecks, and logistics delays
Systems & Reporting
Utilize ERP/MRP to manage planning activities
Track KPIs such as fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and on-time delivery
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
5–10+ years in supply chain, production planning, or manufacturing operations
Experience managing multi-site or multi-country planning
Strong understanding of seasonal demand planning
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) often preferred due to Mexico operations
