Supply Chain Analytics Intern- Summer 2026

Hy-Vee, Inc. is a progressive company focused on retail. To support retail we must continuously review our supply chain practices to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible while maintaining excellent customer service to our stores and ultimately our customers. The position is located at the West Des Moines corporate office. The timeframe is approximately May 18th to August 14th, 2026. This Monday through Friday opportunity will be 40 hours per week. This internship is part of the Hy-Vee Supply Chain Internship program, which includes tours of Hy-Vee’s facilities, organized networking opportunities, and a final presentation to Hy-Vee Supply Chain leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use modeling techniques to research supply chain efficiencies
• Provide the warehouse, transportation, manufacturing, and purchasing teams with timely analytics and fact-based evaluations to make strategic, tactical decisions
• Perform cost and performance analysis specific to warehousing and transportation operations
• Collaborate with supply chain functions (demand planning, product supply, transportation, customer logistics, internal warehouse, manufacturing) to deliver warehouse objectives
• Report to work when scheduled and on time

The Successful Candidate will have

• Strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to gather and analyze data and report results
• Knowledge of VBA (Visual Basic For Applications) and Excel Solver tool is beneficial
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams comprised of members from all levels of the organization.

Minimum Education/Experience Required to Perform Job

Qualifications include working toward, or recently acquired, a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Economics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, etc.
