Supplier Quality Engineer

Conduct and maintain effectiveness of quality activities related to supplier quality including but not limited to:

A. Incoming inspection of critical supplied components.

B. Participates in the approval process particularly conducting first article testing and reporting of supplied components (with support from MRB).

C. Validation testing of revised or re-designed components arising from supplier quality issues (with support from manufacturing and/or engineering).

D. Other testing that may be required pertaining to supplied components including replicating failure modes, preparation of samples to be submitted to a 3rd party laboratory, comparison testing with good versus bad material, etc.

E. Spearheading inspection of existing inventory at site as need arises (example: when a supplier claim arises with support from MRB)

F. Root cause analysis and problem resolution for any supplier-related issues including creation of corrective and preventive action report (Note: when working with suppliers, always include GSQM and/or SQM in the correspondence).

G. Creation of alerts or work visual instructions pertaining to supplier quality issues (i.e. product identification, markings, design changes, etc.)

H. Escalate any major supplier quality issues immediately to supervisor/s.

I. Conduct periodic quality audits to local suppliers (may be required to also audit overseas as needed).

J. Identifying areas for improvement pertaining to supplier quality and propose to management.

K. Participate in other quality activities that may impact supplier quality.

L. Act as local liaison between vendors and the factory on supplier quality.

Develop and/or maintain reports on:

M. Monitoring supplier performance as provided by GSQM.

N. Certificates of Analyses or Certificate of Conformance from suppliers.

O. Non-conformances (internal and field) for top thirty (30) suppliers or as designated by GSQM.

P. Technical documentation from suppliers (First Article Inspections, 3rd party inspection reports, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, etc.)

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience in supplier quality

· Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish

· Ability to work with minimum supervision.

· Proficient in MS Office and other quality-related software

Preferred Knowledge & Training:

· Knowledge of and/or experience in (preferred) in various manufacturing processes including but not limited to injection molding, extrusion, mechanical and/or electronic assemblies, etc.

· Knowledge and good understanding of QC concepts and methodologies including but not limited to 8D, ISO 9000 principles, Gage R&R, APQP.
