Job Description
Be Part of History – Help Deliver Safe, Seamless Transportation for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Toronto
Join a high-performing operations team delivering critical last-mile transportation support for one of the largest global sporting events in Canadian history. As a TCP, you will play a direct role in keeping fans, vehicles, and pedestrians moving safely around key rideshare pickup/drop-off zones at Lamport Stadium, FanFest areas, and surrounding streets.
This is not a standard traffic job. You will be on the front lines of a professionally managed, large-scale event operation supporting tens of thousands of fans during Match Days and FanFest activations.
What You’ll Do
Supervise and coordinate Traffic Control Personnel (TCPs) across designated rideshare pickup/drop-off zones, pedestrian crossings, and surrounding roadways.
Lead day-to-day traffic operations at high-volume locations including the Lamport Stadium rideshare lot and curbside operations on Douro Street, Front Street/Bathurst Street, and Stadium Road.
Monitor vehicle and pedestrian flow to ensure safe and efficient movement while minimizing congestion and operational conflicts between rideshare vehicles, taxis, private vehicles, and pedestrians.
Provide direction, coaching, and real-time support to TCPs, marshals, and frontline staff during active operations and peak event periods.
Work closely with event partners, City of Toronto stakeholders, security teams, transit personnel, and venue operations to execute traffic management and crowd movement plans.
Ensure compliance with temporary traffic control measures, road closures, geofenced zones, and operational protocols established for FIFA event operations.
Respond to incidents, escalations, and operational disruptions in real time, implementing contingency plans and communicating updates to management and partner agencies.
Conduct shift briefings, deploy staff assignments, and maintain operational reporting and incident documentation.
Support a safety-first culture by identifying operational risks, ensuring proper traffic control procedures are followed, and maintaining professionalism under high-pressure environments.
Represent FIFA event operations and the City of Toronto with strong leadership, professionalism, and effective decision-making in fast-paced public-facing environments.
