THE ROLE
Position: Site Supervisor
Competition Number: CNS 2026-04-24
Location: Richmond Terminal Gate
Reports to: Site Manager
Working Hours: 0700-1600 Monday-Friday (some weekend and/or overtime will be required/necessary)
Hourly Wage: $20.50 per hour
Closing Date: 8 May, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities:
While duties vary by assignment, the responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
Assigning the duties and shifts of the site Security Detail
Monitoring satisfaction of services through regular visits to all posts throughout the shift
Completing new hire orientation / training of Security Detail members assigned to the site
Maintaining physical security of the site and implementing required security measures by our client.
Conducting security patrols/inspections of the site’s interior and perimeter areas (in all weather conditions)
Conduct Site Safety and Security Orientation to visitors and third-party contractors.
Controlling pedestrian and vehicle access, ensuring compliance to HPA procedures
Conducting random personnel baggage and vehicle searches
Monitoring and controlling access to Restricted Areas
Provide a traffic safety watch within and outside of the Restricted Area(s)
Monitoring of HPA surveillance systems
Responding to emergency situations
Reporting deficiencies in, or malfunctions of, security related equipment to the HPA Site Supervisor
Responding to security breaches or incidents in accordance with HPA policies
Ensuring the appropriate level of staffing so that CNS can meet the service level targets of the client.
Effectively coach, motivate, discipline and provide feedback when necessary.
Conduct investigations and complete detailed accident and incident reports in a timely matter, inform the HPA Site Supervisor of all incidents requiring their authority.
Ensure all pre-shift and in-shift inspections are completed.
Understand Occupational Health and Security regulations as they apply to security workings at HPA.
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
Be aged 19 or older;
Be legally eligible to work in Canada;
Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted;
Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
Be eligible to apply for, and attain, Government of Canada secret security clearance;
Be able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to work in both official languages would be considered an asset).
Qualifications and Skills
The incumbent must possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement and decision making in emergency situations
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing situations
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to lead a team focused on the common goal of providing superior service to the client
Computer proficiency using MS Suite software
Superior attention to detail
Due to the scheduled hours, reliable transportation is required
Valid driver’s license required and willingness to complete DND 404 accreditation
