The individual in this role is responsible for supervising and ensuring the proper functioning of ramp service operations, making sure they meet Air Transat's high standards and safety requirements. As an ambassador for the company, the supervisor will also promote and maintain a safety culture at all times.
Responsibilities
• Supervise the work teams for ramp services;
• Ensure compliance with Air Transat's airport policies and procedures regarding the treatment of baggage, both in terms of arrivals and departures.
• Conduct station inspections in accordance with company programs, identify corrective actions and ensure their implementation;
• Provide coaching and mentoring to operational teams
• Manage station delays, emergency events and irregular operations
• Work closely with airport authorities, government agencies
• Managing various reports related to ramp services
• High school or equivalent experience related to the field (an asset).
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the aviation/airline industry, as a Ramp Agent and/or Ramp Team Lead.
• Two (2) years of experience in employee management.
• Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• CIZR card and DA ramp permit (an asset).
• Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations governing airlines, as well as regulations from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP).
• Extensive experience in ground operations and a solid understanding of flight operations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
• Flexible and available to work various shifts based on operational needs (day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays).
• Proficient in spoken and written French and English*.
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
