The Ringer seeks a Senior Production Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will be driven, innovative, and enthusiastic about sports and pop culture. In this role, the production manager will work with studio teams and remote teams to coordinate all recordings and seasonal staffing. This role requires significant experience with production staffing and fluctuating production needs. Familiarity with The Ringer and Spotify’s podcast business is also important.
What You'll Do:
•
Production Logistics & Scheduling: Work with the studio scheduling leads to coordinate studio bookings
•
Facility & Equipment Management: Work with our engineering team, who oversee maintenance of studio equipment, technology management, and ensure readiness for production. Managing the scheduling of planned upgrades and downtime to address technical issues.
•
Manage studio backend support, including coordination with vendors, technology and production. Ensure smooth communication to all appropriate parties, and lead the implementation of upgrades as needed.

Operational strategy: Streamline workflows, develop budgets, and manage vendor relations to optimize efficiency and increase production value.
•
Collaborate with production managers and creative executives on production operations strategies. Assist leadership to establish in-studio practices that maximize team cohesion and efficiency.
•
Act as a bridge between Studio Production and Finance, building rate cards and managing onboarding of vendors and contractors.
•
Lead efforts to source additional contractor support, building a high-level strategy for show and studio preferred assignments.
•
Drive configuration of studio spaces and facilities to enable purposeful onsite work, including partnering closely with the engineers to ensure all space and related equipment are working effectively in user friendly ways that take into account best practices.
•
Supporting the live events team’s effort to source production crew and equipment for remote productions.
•
Work closely with Head of Production and other leadership on production budgets including services, negotiating bids for outside vendors, tracking costs and expenditure reconciliation. Partner with Head of Production to project upcoming budgets.
Who You Are:
•
Experience: 7+ years running studio operations at a video production facility
•
Leadership: Strong team management and communication abilities.
•
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of production equipment, scheduling software, and tools like Excel/PowerPoint.
•
Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues quickly in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
•
Established relationships with vendors, film commissions, and facilities.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent project management skills
•
Excellent organization skills; ability to handle multiple projects at once
•
Significant experience managing physical production, in studio and remote, including facility operations, vendor management and negotiations
•
Experience working in a dynamic environment. Demonstrable ability to effect change and drive new practices and procedures.
•
Previous experience managing a team
•
Motivated self-starter with excellent organizational and analytical skills
•
Strategically minded and adept at managing in a diverse environment
•
Adept at building strong relationships and interfacing with people at all levels across the organization
•
Proactive approach and solution focused
Where You'll Be:
• This role is located in Los Angeles, California
The United States base range for this position is $116,810–$166,871 USD, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
