General Description
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial construction experience who is capable of performing daily field tasks while effectively directing overall site operations.
The superintendent leads subcontractors, coordinates closely with internal teams, and maintains clear, consistent communication with all project stakeholders. This position is critical to driving project progress and ensuring all work is executed with a high level of quality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Experience with material takeoffs and coordinating field operations.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to work independently and effectively lead and motivate teams.
Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Willingness to travel to project sites within a 4-hour radius, with return home on weekends.
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to jobsite safety best practices.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Experience in both ground-up construction and interior renovations is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software.
Ability to maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and field documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day field operations from project initiation through completion.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with established quality standards.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and material deliveries to maintain workflow and schedule.
Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Review construction plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues to prevent delays.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily reports, schedules, and field documentation.
Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and internal teams.
Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Promote a positive jobsite culture centered on teamwork, accountability and quality craftsmanship
