The Summer Student will provide support to the Allan Park Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and other areas as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
• PROVIDE SUPPORT TO LOGISTICS, WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
• PERFORM GENERAL MAINTENANCE TASKS AROUND APK FACILITY
• PERFORM SHIPPING AND RECEIVING DUTIES
• PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OTHER AREAS AT APK AS REQUIRED
Education & Experience Required:
• ENROLLMENT IN A UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE – CURRENT AND RETURNING IN THE FALL OF 2027
• PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTERS
• GOOD DOCUMENTATION SKILLS
• THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE PHYSICAL LABOUR INCLUDING SOME LIFTING
• INCUMBENT MUST HAVE GOOD PEOPLE SKILLS AND BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY, PRESENTING PROFESSIONAL IMAGE OF THEMSELVES AND TELESAT AT ALL TIMES.
Equipment Used:
• PC’S
• SMALL WORK TOOLS (DRILLS, SCREWDRIVERS, ETC)
• PRESSURE WASHER
Decision Making & Supervision:
• INCUMBENT WILL BE PROVIDED LIMITED GUIDANCE ON RELATED WORK ACTIVITIES. MUST BE ABLE TO MAKE DECISIONS INDEPENDENTLY DURING WORK ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ALL WORK IS COMPLETED SAFELY.
• MINIMAL SUPERVISION OF DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES CAN BE EXPECTED. INCUMBENT MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE GOOD JUDGEMENT AS IT RELATES WORK ACTIVITIES AND SAFE ENVIRONMENTS.
Working Conditions:
• THE INCUMBENT WILL WORK MON-FRI 08:00-16:00.
