SUMMARY:

The Shop Intern supports the maintenance team by assisting with the service, repair, and operation of company vehicles and farm equipment while gaining hands-on mechanical experience in an agricultural environment.

This internship has a headcount of two. One will be based in McFarland, CA and the other will be based in Visalia, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with servicing various types of vehicles, including pickups, cars, and other company vehicles.

• Oil and lubrication services
• Brake inspection, repair, and replacement
• Assist with minor electrical repairs

• Assist with servicing and maintaining farm equipment, including tractors and forklifts.

• Oil and lubrication services
• Assist with minor to moderate repairs
• Assist with basic electrical repairs

• Follow all safety regulations at all times

• Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ask for guidance when unfamiliar with tasks or safety procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a diesel, heavy equipment, automotive, or related technical program preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and meeting standards set by the supervisor.
• Willingness to learn and work in an outdoor agricultural environment.
