Job Description
Reaktor’s award-winning tech community is looking for Summer Developers to join us in Helsinki!
If you are studying or in the early stages of your software development career and have a curious, proactive approach to problem-solving and learning, you might be just who we’re looking for.
As a Summer Developer at Reaktor, you'll be working on real projects with our clients, giving you the chance to put your knowledge into practice and gain hands-on experience in real-world development.
You won’t just be shadowing—you’ll be an integral part of the team, learning from experienced developers and contributing to meaningful work.
What we offer:
💡 Meaningful projects that solve real-life problems
You'll spend your summer programme as part of a development team, working with leading experts to build solutions that address real business or societal challenges
🤝 A passionate community of experts
As a Reaktorian, you’ll be surrounded by talented and experienced colleagues, always ready to help and share their knowledge
🏡 A workplace where you can feel at home
We’re not looking to hire your "work self" — we want you. At Reaktor, you can be your authentic self at work, just as you are at home
💰 A paid trainee period that’s more than just work
We take our work seriously, but we also make time for fun. Expect a balanced experience with regular team days and non-work-related activities
You love solving problems—not just with code, but by understanding users and designing solutions that are intuitive and impactful.
What we’re looking for:
• You know at least one programming language/stack well
A working knowledge of multiple languages with different abstraction levels and paradigms is even better
• You’re familiar with the web stack
Frontend & backend technologies, communication protocols, relational databases—most of our projects involve web technologies, so understanding these will be a plus
• You have experience working in a team and following good development practices
Code reviews, Git, and collaborative development—being comfortable with these will help you integrate smoothly into the team
• You can work in English and/or Finnish
Most of our projects run in one of these languages. Finnish is an advantage, but not a strict requirement
• You’re located in or able to move to Helsinki, Tampere, or Turku
You must have a valid working permit for Finland beforehand. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide relocation assistance for trainees
⚡ If you don’t check every box—don’t worry! We’re looking for potential, not just ready-made professionals.
Why join us?
For over two decades, we’ve built a culture of adaptability, innovation, and collaboration. We thrive in fast-paced environments while ensuring the well-being of our people. Join us, and be part of a company that invests in your growth, learning, and future.
While working at Reaktor, we’ll provide you with:
• To be able to impact how you work. Together with the client, your team chooses the approach, technologies, and methodologies you think will work best in any given situation
• A community with as much support as your heart desires
• A team that’s not only experienced but considerate as well – they all want you to succeed
• A sustainable work-life balance and support for your daily life outside of work. (e.g., free moving day, Reaktor car share, sick child care services, office space to use for your private events, etc.)
• An opportunity to grow as a professional. In addition to the day-to-day work, we offer internal training courses, community events, and 15-minute coffee breaks to discuss hot topics in tech and design
• A possibility to take part in more extended academy-like studies like Cloud Academy
• 300+ hobby clubs, from winter swimming and running to knitting and archery, that bring people together outside of (and sometimes inside) office hours. Many of these are supported by Reaktor
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
Together, we are committed to making Reaktor an environment that embraces and values all of our employees for the whole of who they are. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply, knowing that studies show that members of underrepresented communities don’t apply for jobs unless they fully satisfy all of the requirements. If you're thinking twice about applying for this reason, we invite you to send us your application anyway. You could be just the person we're looking for.
