EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY SUMMER POSITION SUMMER CAMP COUNSELORS

The City of Brooks requires one (1) Summer Camp Counselors for the Recreation Services Department, primarily operating out of the JBS Canada Centre. The JBS Canada Centre is an excellent facility with a fitness centre, full-size gymnasium, meeting rooms, public library, daycare, multi-purpose rooms, multipurpose fieldhouse, curling rink, and an aquatic centre which houses a 35-meter indoor swimming pool, waterslide, waterpark, sauna, and steam room.
Job Details & Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Recreation Programmer, these seasonal positions will primarily be involved in the delivery of the summer day camp program. As a Summer Camp Counsellor, you will also assist in the implementation of programs and special events throughout the department as required. In addition, you will also lead a variety of crafts, games, sports, storytelling, and sport and recreation activities
Requirements:
As the successful applicant, you must be aged sixteen (16) or older;
You must possess your Standard First Aid/CPR Certification; and,
Coaching or leadership training and experience would be considered an asset along with previous experience working with youth and for youth programs.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a seasonal position scheduled to start June 22, 2026 and last until August 21, 2026. This position is based on a 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Weekend, special event and overtime work may be required. Successful applicants will receive a free single membership to the JBS Canada Centre during the term of their employment. The 2026 salary range for this position is $18.98 - $20.14 per hour.
