Job Summary:
McGill Summer Academy is a four-week summer program, divided into two 2-week sessions, for high school students who want to discover student life at McGill University and the city of Montreal. Under the direction of the McGill Summer Academy Supervisor and Team Leads, the incumbent will act as an ambassador for McGill while leading 14–17-year-old students through McGill Summer Academy activities.
Typical Functions:
• Participate in orientation for McGill Summer Academy;
• Greet and welcome participants as they arrive at McGill Summer Academy;
• Supervise students during activities on campus and around Montreal, during the day, in the evening, or overnight;
• Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines, and understand all emergency procedures associated with the program, managing issues as they arise;
• Ensure safe movement of students from one activity to another;
• Monitor environment to ensure safety of participants and report any issues with students and/or facilities to Team Leaders;
• Create a positive and memorable experience for all participants.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a McGill Undergraduate program. Involved in McGill clubs, athletics, and student life. Strong communication skills. Energetic and friendly. Previous experience working with student groups. Able to identify, accurately respond to, and escalate problems when necessary. CPR or First Aid Training an asset. Additional languages an asset.

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # 3 on a scale of 0-4.
