Primary Purpose: Provides a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom environment K-12th grade students. Delivers developmentally appropriate instruction that fosters academic excellence, spiritual growth, and personal responsibility. Encourages critical thinking, independence, and leadership as students prepare for middle school. Partners with families to support the holistic growth of each child—spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. Consistently reflects God’s love in every interaction, serving as a positive influence on staff, students, and families for Christ, while fully embodying the Sunlight Way in all areas of responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction
Collaborate with your grade-level team to develop and implement educational goals and curriculum.
Design and deliver developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
Post weekly lesson plans in the classroom and submit lesson plans and newsletters to administration each Friday.
Classroom Management
Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning.
Promote positive behavior through proactive classroom management strategies; guide and redirect inappropriate behavior as needed.
Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times.
Follow consistent daily schedule while remaining flexible to meet the needs of students and the school.
Provide a balanced instructional approach that includes whole group, small group, collaborative, and individualized learning experiences.
Assessment
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
Utilize both subjective and objective assessments throughout the year.
Analyze NWEA data to inform instructional planning and meet individual student needs.
Communication
Share classroom updates through newsletters (weekly or monthly, as appropriate by grade level).
Communicate student progress with parents consistently and constructively.
Address educational and behavioral concerns with parents promptly and with grace.
Notify administration of any concerns related to student discipline, safety, or well-being.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences each trimester and as needed throughout the year.
Professionalism
Maintain confidentiality regarding all student, staff, and school-related matters.
Collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues and administration.
Contribute to a unified and supportive school team.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings, open houses, or other special SCA activities outside of school day.
Represent SCA staff, students, and families in a positive and professional manner.
Consistently model and promote values of the Sunlight Way in all areas of school and community life.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Spiritual Commitment
A committed Christian who regularly attends church and actively lives out their faith.
Demonstrates a growing personal relationship with Jesus through consistent spiritual disciplines such as scripture reading, prayer, gratitude and fellowship.
Skills and Attributes
Exhibits a consistently positive attitude upholding the values and mission of the school.
Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect well with students, parents and staff.
Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters.
Flexible and willing to support school operations in a variety of roles as needed.
Dependable with a strong commitment to punctuality and regular attendance.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience working as a lead teacher in grades K-12 preferred.
Educational Credentials
Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field required.
Eligible for Current Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate (in process or expired certificate welcome)
CPR/First Aide Certification required.
