K-8 Substitute Teacher
Reports To: Human Resources Director
Primary Function: Responsible for instructing students using the plans created by the classroom teacher in kindergarten through 8th grade
Hours: Sub assignments will vary - School hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Application closing date: This is an evergreen position and applications are accepted on an on-going basis
Expected Start Date: Variable - Negotiated upon hire
Anticipated Salary: $160 per full day or $80 per half day substitute assignment for the 2025-2026 school year
Requirements
Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree preferred, however non-degreed applicants may be considered based on experience
Certification/License: Colorado/other state Teaching Certificate or Substitute License preferred
Experience: Prior teaching/classroom experience strongly preferred.
Physical Activities: General physical demands such as sitting, walking, outdoor supervision.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong classroom management skills required, strong written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of Google Suite and the ability to operate computer/office equipment.
Essential Duties
Work in the absence of the teacher to aid students in understanding content/subject matter.
Follow procedures, lesson plans and curriculum as designated by the classroom teacher.
Utilize classroom management skills to maintain a productive, healthy learning environment.
Enforce and comply with administration policies, rules and safety procedures set by the school.
Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement teaching.
Maintain confidentiality per FERPA.
Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
Take attendance and document daily notes.
Ensure the classroom is kept clean and orderly.
Create a summary of the day for the teacher for when he/she returns.
Salary and Benefits
The 2025-2026 Substitute Teacher Pay Rate is $160 per full day (more than four hours) and $80 per half day (less than four hours). PCK Substitute Rates are subject to change and can be found on our website via the link above.
