Under supervision of the Research Supervisor, the Undergraduate Research Assistant will participate in a research project that designs and implements a computer-based task in which a physical control interface is used to manipulate a visual stimulus displayed on a computer screen.
Position Summary:
• Participate in developing and programming a computer-based behavioral task.
• Assist with the integrate hardware components with the experimental control software.
• Participates in assembling and test elements of the training setup and reward delivery system.
• In collaboration with the research team, assist with troubleshooting and optimizing the system.
• Performing various administrative tasks related to the project.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate student in engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field
• Programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar)
• Interest in experimental design, hardware interfacing, or behavioral neuroscience
• Experience with electronics, microcontrollers, or behavioral setups is an asset but not required
• Eligibility for this position is restricted to students participating in the Work Study program
This position offers hands-on experience at the intersection of neuroscience, programming, and experimental hardware development.
