The College of Science is seeking a part-time student intern to support marketing communications and administrative functions during Summer 2026. This role is ideal for a strong writer with an interest in storytelling, digital content, and social media. The intern will contribute to content development across multiple platforms while also assisting with light office support tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write and edit content for print materials, websites, and email communications
• Develop and publish engaging social media content
• Proofread and edit copy for accuracy and clarity
• Update website content and post stories
• Conduct interviews with faculty and students to support storytelling efforts
• Assist with basic website analytics reporting (preferred)
• Support Wikipedia content review (preferred)
• Perform occasional administrative tasks, including answering phones and running campus errands
• Provide general office support as needed
This position reports to the Communications Associate Director in the College of Science and will collaborate with Assistant and Associate Directors on various marketing and communications initiatives.
• Pursuing a degree in English, Journalism, American Studies, Marketing, or a related field; science or engineering majors with strong writing skills will also be considered
• Strong command of English grammar, writing, and editing
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable conducting interviews and engaging with faculty and students
• Demonstrated interest in social media trends and content creation
• Familiarity with Instagram and willingness to learn basic video filming and editing
• Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented

Duration: 10 weeks (June through mid-August 2026)
Schedule: Part-time, 15 to 25 hours per week | Hybrid (Monday through Friday)
Location: St. Joseph County, Indiana or surrounding area (regular on-campus presence required)
Hourly Rate: $16.50
