Position: Structural Engineering Drafter
Shift: Regular Full Time, 40-hour/ week
Department: Engineering Services
Location: Richmond, BC, Canada
Reports to: Manager, Engineering Services
Purpose:
WhiteWater West is seeking a Structural Engineering Drafter to join our Engineering team at our Richmond head office. In this position, you will undertake a variety of tasks to assist the Engineering Design Services team in producing project deliverables for the Structural Engineering team. Examples of work assignments include assisting Structural (and occasionally Mechanical) Engineers with drafting design-intent drawings and BIM documentation, developing CAD models, creating design documentation, and supporting Continuous Improvement efforts. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare engineering drawings and create CAD models for waterslide supports, towers, and various elements
Become proficient in the use of customized software in preparing engineering drawings for waterslide supports
Prepare and coordinate BIM models related to project deliverables
Coordinate drawing set releases for project deliverables
Coordinate work with other related discipline engineers, drafters, and departments
Perform drafting checks on engineering drawings and CAD models
Review structural drawings to identify pre-engineered manufactured parts
Contribute to the development of departmental teamwork and efforts to improve efficiency, including continuous improvements to design and drafting processes
Use Non-Compliance Reporting (NCR) / Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) procedures.
Execute responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards
Engage in continuous improvement of self and team

Maintain and follow best practices in Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, Lean Management, and Safety

Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit
Knowledge of ACC (AutoDesk Forma), Aconex, and/or other BIM related software
Exposure to construction projects would be a definite asset
Knowledge of drawings standards (ASME Y14.100) would be an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of SolidWorks would be an asset
