The position:

We are actively seeking a highly motivated Structural Designer to join our talented team. This is an on-site position working out of our Edmonton office. 

What will you be doing?

Collect client and project information and prepare structural designs/drawings in accordance with best practice design and relevant codes and standards.

Working with project engineers to assist in coordination of drawings sets with client expectations including architectural coordination, value engineering and industry standard practices

Use AutoCAD to prepare 2D drawing sets for construction level documents in various materials (wood, steel, concrete, precast products, etc.).

Use Revit to prepare 3D Building Information (BIM) models and export to 2D drawing sets.

Coordinate structural design with Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and other project consultants under the direction of the project Engineer.

Visit project site to collect required information.

Visit Construction site to complete construction reviews.

Performs other duties as assigned by project engineers.

What you bring?

A bachelor’s degree in structural engineering with a minimum of 2-5 years experience. 

Registered as an Engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) is considered an asset.

Experience designing multi-family residential buildings.

Basic design experience in wood, structural steel and/ or concrete. Experience with ETABS and SAFE will be considered an asset.

Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and Revit

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
