YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The What: At Blackwave GmbH, we develop high-performance Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) for aerospace and next-generation mobility applications—combining lightweight design with maximum structural safety.

• Perform structural and strength analyses for mechanical components and assemblies
• Support static, dynamic, and thermal calculations
• Create, execute, and evaluate FEA / CAE simulations
• Interpret simulation results and derive design optimization recommendations
• Contribute to the design, verification, and validation of structural components
• Collaborate closely with design, development, and testing teams
• Assist in defining and evaluating load cases, boundary conditions, and material properties
• Prepare technical documentation and analysis reports
• Actively contribute to engineering projects with a strong hands-on mindset
YOUR PROFILE:
• Entry level: No prior full-time professional experience required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering (with strong technical focus) or a comparable technical field
• Relevant hands-on experience gained through working student positions, internships, or comparable technical university projects (e.g. Formula Student, rocketry group) is mandatory
• Experience in finite element modeling and simulation of composite and metallic structures
• Solid understanding of structural mechanics fundamentals (e.g. strength, stiffness, load paths)
• Knowledge of composite and metallic material behavior
• Ability to interpret simulation results and apply sound engineering judgment
• Experience in technical documentation and clear engineering communication
• Experience with programming or automation for analysis (e.g. Python, scripting, parametric workflows) is beneficial
• Business fluent English skills (C-Level), German skills beneficial
