Strategy Development Manager

As part of our journey to transform ourselves and elevate H&M through our company strategy, we have recently established the Strategy, Innovation, and Business Development function. The purpose of the function is to accelerate our company strategy ambitions and collaborate across business functions, to simplify and create clarity for teams working towards our common direction, while ensuring effective steering and governance of strategic priorities to deliver on long-term strategy.

Strategy Team focuses on securing a clear common long-term direction and strategic plan ensuring clarity and alignment across the organization on what to deliver on. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As Strategy Development Manager, you play a key role in shaping the strategic direction at group level. You work closely with management and key stakeholders across H&M Group, driving cross-functional strategic initiatives and ensuring effective strategic steering.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop the company’s long term strategy and actionable strategic initiatives, in collaboration with business functions
• Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives, collaborating with key business functions
• Securing alignment between overall strategy and totality of functions’ strategic initiatives
• Lead and support steering and governance processes to ensure strategic priorities are executed effectively and progress is tracked
• Work closely together with management and key strategy stakeholders across H&M Group, ensuring prioritization in line with strategic direction 
• Develop a deep understanding of our business and be the person that can guide and empower the leaders in setting the right focus to ensure long-term objectives are met

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for a person who combines strategic thinking with strong analytical skills and clear, convincing communication. You quickly identify the essence of complex challenges and translate them into actionable solutions. You bring a proactive mindset and are confident in driving initiatives forward, committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Working closely with stakeholders at different levels, you understand their perspectives and priorities and adapt your approach to create alignment and clarity. You are comfortable influencing and challenging senior stakeholders when needed, guiding decision-making while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.

You thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, are open and flexible, and enjoy shaping the future together with others.

To succeed in this role, you also have:

• 5+ years of experience, ideally gained at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, with a strong track record of delivering in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
• Proven track record of company/group-level strategy development work, as a strategy consultant and/or in a similar role
• Strong ability to interpret data and insights, and translate into strategic actions
• Strong business acumen and analytical rigor
• Strong problem-solving ability in a complex business context
