Trexquant is launching a global expansion initiative to build research offices around the world to support talent wherever it may be. We are seeking a highly driven, resourceful, and execution-oriented individual to help execute this expansion. You will work to identify new markets, stand up offices, install local leadership, and ensure each location becomes a productive part of the firm.This is a rare opportunity to help architect global infrastructure inside a high-performing quantitative hedge fund.
Responsibilities
• Expansion Strategy: Evaluate new markets (talent, universities, costs, regulatory factors), assess risks, and deliver decision-ready recommendations on where to build next.
• Office Launch Execution: Coordinate legal, vendor, and operational setup; partner cross-functionally to launch fully functional offices; build scalable playbooks.
• Talent Engine Setup: Establish local recruiting infrastructure, map talent pipelines, define hiring targets, and track early hiring performance.
• Post-Launch Optimization: Monitor new office performance, resolve friction points, ensure head quarter alignment, and support long-term scaling.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
• 3 – 7 years of experience with international expansion, office launches, or market entry strategy.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to launch.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess markets, evaluate trade-offs, and structure decision-ready recommendations.
• High ownership mindset with a track record of independently driving initiatives in ambiguous environments.
• Exceptional organizational and operational execution skills; detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing management committee level materials.
• Ability to build relationships across functions (legal, compliance, IT, recruiting, leadership).

Applications are open for both Stamford and New York City offices, the latter with a planned opening in October 2026.
The base salary for this role is $140,000 to $175,000, and will be determined based on the candidate’s educational background and professional experience. Base salary is one component of Trexquant’s total compensation package, which may also include a discretionary, performance-based bonus. This position is classified as overtime-exempt.
