Position Overview:
TrueNAS is redefining enterprise storage with the world’s most trusted Open Source platform—and we’re looking for proven closers to drive our next phase of growth. As a Strategic Sales Consultant, you’ll tap into your network and outbound expertise to build high-velocity pipelines, close strategic deals, and expand our presence across enterprise and channel markets. This is a fully remote role in the US (EST or CST time zone)

Base Pay Range

This role offers an on-target earnings (OTE) potential of $300,000 to $600,000 USD through commission. Success in this position is directly tied to performance, with high achievers consistently reaching or exceeding OTE targets.

Please note that the provided range reflects the pay spectrum for positions within the same job category as the one to which this position belongs. The final offer will consider various factors, such as location, education, and prior experience, to ensure a comprehensive and fair compensation assessment.

Expected Posting Timelines

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, a maximum of 90 days.

The Day-to-Day

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Leverage a strong personal network and executive-level relationships to identify, prospect, and close new enterprise and channel business for TrueNAS storage solutions

Independently build and manage a high-velocity pipeline of net-new opportunities, driven primarily by self-sourced leads and strategic outbound efforts

Drive the entire sales cycle from initial contact and qualification through to contract negotiation and deal closure

Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies for high-potential prospects, including VARs, MSPs, and Fortune 1000 organizations

Create and deliver compelling proposals and pricing packages; accurately forecast and close opportunities to exceed individual and team sales targets

Demonstrate a consistent record of success winning deals against incumbent legacy vendors and large enterprise competitors

Maintain expert-level knowledge of the TrueNAS product portfolio and positioning; clearly articulate the business value, technical benefits, and ROI of our solutions to both technical and executive buyers

Continuously track and analyze market trends, competitor moves, and partner activities to inform sales strategy and differentiate in a crowded marketplace

Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Sales Management to secure bookings.

Collaborate with Sales Engineers for customer/prospect configurations.

Document sales activities within Salesforce.

Education and Experience

Proven, extensive, and verifiable network of business contacts and decision-makers in that can be readily converted into sales opportunities

Demonstrated success in a 100% commission-based or heavily commission-driven sales role, consistently exceeding targets

Highly autonomous, self-driven, and motivated by uncapped earning potential

Comfortable being the “underdog” and not just leveraging a name brand to open doors

Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of multitasking

Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, planning, and time management skills

A positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude.

Ability to be both self-reliant and a team player

Background in Open Source Technologies a plus

Ability to properly forecast

Willingness to travel up to 30%

Remote work is possible for the right candidate
