POSITION PURPOSE

The Storekeeper supports yard, warehouse, and workshop operations by ensuring organized storage, basic inventory control, material movement discipline, and housekeeping.

The role focuses on 5S implementation, material receiving & issuing support, monitoring of material movement, hazardous material storage, and yard control, particularly during evening and low‑manpower hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support implementation and maintenance of 5S in:• Project yard(s)
• Plant & Equipment workshop
• Warehouses and common storage areas

• Coordinate with Project Engineers and Foremen to ensure materials are stored in assigned and labelled areas.
• Maintain basic housekeeping and yard discipline, ensuring clear access routes and safe stacking.
• Support yard vehicle parking control in coordination with HSE team.
• Maintain visibility and basic control of shared materials used across multiple projects, including common tools (power tools, hand tools, welding machines), consumables (bolts, nuts, anchors, electrical items), temporary traffic materials (cones, barriers, signboards), lifting and access equipment (chains, slings, ladders), reusable steel items, drums, and containers stored in the yard or warehouses.
• Assist projects in identifying misplaced, idle (non-moving), slow moving or surplus materials.
• Ensure safe and organized storage of hazardous materials (oils, chemicals, paints, batteries, drums) as per approved procedures and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), in coordination with HSE.
• Receive project, workshop, and office materials.
• Perform visual inspection and quantity checks against delivery documents.
• Coordinate discrepancies with procurement or project teams.
• Support GRN (Goods Receipt Note) processing through the GRN / Finance team.
• Receive, store, and control indirect materials used by offices, workshops, and warehouses, including stationery, office supplies, workshop consumables, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and basic site-use items, ensuring proper storage, issue tracking, and availability.
• Do not issue materials, but:• Monitor and support material issuance activities
• Assist during evening/night hours when manpower is limited

• Ensure no material leaves the yard or warehouse without valid documents.
• Perform outgoing truck checks before exit.
• Maintain control of archival document storage room, including proper arrangement, access control, and retrieval support.
• Coordinate segregation, collection, and disposal of scrap and waste generated at sites and returned to the yard, as well as scrap produced within the yard, workshops, and warehouses, including metal/process scrap, concrete debris, packaging, and general waste, in line with approved procedures.
• Act as yard and warehouse support point during evening/off‑hours, ensuring basic control and handover to day team.
• Carry out any additional tasks, duties, or responsibilities assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or Management from time to time, related to yard, warehouse, stores, material control, or support operations.

SYSTEM & RECORD KEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic store transactions in:• Xpedeon (for project material records)
• Maximo (RTA related)

• Update receipts, stock movements, and location details as instructed.
• Ensure entries are timely and accurate under supervision of Supply Chain team.
• No ownership of system configuration or approvals.

• 2–3 years experience in yard, warehouse, or site storekeeping roles.
• Exposure to construction or project-based material handling preferred.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and safety practices.
• Familiarity with ERP / inventory systems (Xpedeon, Maximo or similar).
• Ability to coordinate with site teams and work independently during evening hours.
