Job Description

• Professional certifications are an ongoing requirement. Comparable certifications on competitors’ products are equivalent to IBM certifications.
• Skills should include a detailed understanding of Storage System Disk environments.
• Ability to install hardware and connectivity setup
• Strong experience in performing Firmware upgrades
• Strong knowledge and experience in Data Migrations
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Ability to perform Disk Eradication and Degaussing a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as a Services Storage System Engineer for post-sale activities implementing solutions at client locations nationally.
• Perform system-engineering delivery functions with respect to the development of system concepts, and requirements, at the system, software, and hardware levels.
• Installation and implementation of solutions.
• Installation of Hardware and cabling
• Data Migration

Must-Have Summary

• Hands-on in Data Center
• Rack/Stack/Cabling
• No desk jockeys
• Must have current IBM storage experience
• Must be able to do zoning for storage
• Must be able to go on-site and install and config storage o i.e, How do you bring storage online?
• IBM Storage Products we are seeking: (The more a candidate has the better)
• V7
• FS series 9000, 50000
• SVC
• DS8000
• Expert-level knowledge of SAN switch configuration and infrastructure.
• Have good experience in Cisco Networking
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues within the Storage and Network infrastructure and systems on-site as a professional consultant/client-facing.
• Must have the ability to work after hours and on weekends as needed
• Experience and understanding of Network VLANs
• Spectrum Protect & Spectrum Protect Plus - Implementation and management.

Education and/or Experience

• BA or BS or equivalent required.
• Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience managing and implementing Enterprise storage.
