Storage & Backup Engineer

We are looking for a candidate to work in a shared production / service center team managing storage and backup infrastructures for several customers (mid-sized companies, large enterprises, public/private sector). Working with virtualized and physical environments; SAN/NAS storage; backup infrastructures based on Veeam (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, etc.) in a strong ITIL oriented environment (incidents, requests, changes) with monitoring tools and dashboards and to work in close collaboration with systems, virtualization, network, database and security teams, as well as project managers and customer leads.

Responsibilities:

• Administrate, operate and optimize storage and backup infrastructures for multiple customers in a 24/7 production context;
• Ensure continuity of backup, restore and storage services (SAN/NAS, disks, appliances, arrays);
• Participate in on-call rotation to guarantee data availability and integrity, and SLA compliance (backup, restore, DR);
• Perform administration and operation of backup infrastructures (Veeam and others);
• Perform administration and operation of storage infrastructures;
• Monitoring, incidents and Admin-level support (L2/L3);
• Restore operations and business continuity;
• On-call duties and out-of-hours interventions;
• Change management and upgrades;
• Optimization, capacity planning and continuous improvement;
• Documentation and knowledge sharing.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in systems / storage / backup administration;
• VM backups for VMware/Hyper-V, physical agents (servers, workstations if relevant), application-aware backups (SQL, AD, etc.);
• S3 (Simple Storage Service);
• Administration of SAN/NAS arrays (vendors to adapt: Dell/EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, etc.);
• Knowledge of RAID, snapshots, array replication, thin/thick provisioning, QoS, tiering;
• Zoning, LUN masking, volume mapping to servers/ESXi;
• Good knowledge of VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V (structure, datastores, VMs);
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux basics (volumes, filesystems, logs);
• Monitoring and ITSM tools;
• Scripting / automation (nice to have): Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) to automate recurring tasks (reports, checks, etc.);
• Good written and verbal communication;
• Fluent in English.
