Steering Systems Controls and Integration - Technical Lead Engineer

As a Technical Lead Engineer in Steering Systems Controls & Electronics, you will develop, build, calibrate and validate the systems responsible for Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics control. You will work closely with teams across the engineering group to develop world-class vehicle dynamics-shaping functions from concept to production.

The Role:

· Develop and maintain the requirements and specifications for power steering control systems from initial concept to SOP with excellence and great detail

· Work with internal teams such as Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Dynamics and ADAS, as well as external suppliers, to design, build, deliver, test and calibrate prototype software in virtual, HiL and vehicle environments

· Create, execute and document system level design validation plans including virtual, HiL and vehicle-based activity to take your concepts and prototype software to customer readiness

· Work across multiple complex projects in a demanding environment

· Travel domestically and internationally as required

Qualifications:

· 8+ years of automotive experience

· Experience with Vector tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CDMStudio, etc.)

· Strong understanding of Vehicle Dynamics theory

· Proven delivery of world-class vehicle performance

· Hands-on practical experience in prototype development

· Experience with JIRA, Confluence and requirements management tools

· Familiarity (not necessarily world-leading knowledge) with software development (Matlab/Python/CAPL scripting, model based)

· Ability to read and work with electrical schematics, with sound understanding of electrical communication principles

Advantageous:

· Strong steering systems development, integration or validation experience

· Excellent problem-solving ability, with an ability to use fundamental principles and data-driven action

· Desire for continual learning

· Driven-vehicle attributes development experience is a plus

· Eager and strong fundamentals-based problem solving approaches

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical major is required. Master's degree or higher education is preferred.
