State Street - Custody and Complex Operations Team - Risk Monitoring Intern - Summer 2026

Overview:

The RMCoE Sanctions Screening and credit monitoring team performs a centralized First Line of Defense (FLoD) function. The team evaluates SWIFT and Fedwire messages for Sanctions and/or Credit Risk monitoring purposes.

Job Description & Core Responsibilities:

• Analyze and review transactions on a case by case basis, and resolve or escalate as needed

• Ensure all transactions are actioned by deadlines

• Timely escalations of suspended transactions; sanctions hits and insufficient funding for credit

• Ensure a full understanding and adherence to corporate Risk Policies and Standard Operating Procedures

• Participate in self-testing and other related audit requirements

• Respond promptly to client queries, and ensure a timely resolution

• Perform functions utilizing core system applications

• Meet accuracy targets as established by management

• Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed guidelines

• Strong analytical skills and risk- oriented mindset

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask, ensure accuracy and execute against pre-determined deadlines

Salary Range:

$41,600 - $65,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
