Forbes Home is looking for a part-time staff writer with a background in digital content creation, writing, reporting and SEO best practices. This is for a 10-month contract for 30 hours a week. The ideal candidate should have expertise in a range of home services topics including moving, car shipping, home warranty, home security, solar and internet, and the ability to break complex topics down in a digestible way. 

At Forbes Home, we want to guide our readers to make smart, informed home decisions through best-ofs, product reviews, engaging content and data-driven journalism. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering 3-4 pieces of well-researched and well-written home content per week, working within the Forbes Home editorial team. If you’re passionate about service journalism and you're looking for challenges and opportunities similar to those of a startup, with the benefits of a seasoned and successful company, then read on: 

Responsibilities:

• Write helpful, accurate and engaging best-ofs, product reviews and product comparisons 
• Consistently write and publish high-performing content that drives traffic and engagement, and update stories with timely information as needed 
• Work collaboratively with fellow writers and editorial leadership to ensure output meets Forbes Home’s quality standards, reporting to a Managing Editor 

Requirements:

• A portfolio that displays your writing proficiency and ability to tell compelling stories 
• Ability to turn complex home topics into easily digestible snippets 
• Creative vision that aligns with Forbes Home’s editorial tone, voice and vision 
• Experience with SEO best practices preferred 
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented 
• Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy 
• Ability to work in a startup environment
