Staff Web Security Analyst, Web Security

About the role

Please note, this team is hiring across all levels and candidates are individually assessed and appropriately leveled based upon their skills and experience.

The Security Services organization is responsible for building core security products and features, such as Data Loss Prevention, web security, IPS, Malware and Threat Prevention, Cloud Confidence Index, and Breach and Anomaly Detection. We apply Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies across the Netskope cloud security platform. As part of the Security Services org, the Security Efficacy team is responsible for continuous enhancement and enrichment of our malware detection, URL filtering, web security, IPS, threat modeling, and SaaS/IaaS security capabilities.

As a member of the Web Security team you will play a key role in the development and operation of the web security services that power the Netskope Security Cloud. You will work across development, analyst, research and product management teams to craft innovative solutions to the most challenging problems our customers face, and use your passion and expertise in threat protection, malware detection, web security and network security to help drive the continued evolution of our market-leading products. What you will be doing

• Act as the primary point of contact for customer escalations during the US time zone

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging web threats..

• Partner with product managers, data scientists, threat researchers, developers and web analysts to better understand customer requirements, find bottlenecks, and provide solutions

• Provide timely support on URL filtering and categorization customer escalations

• Operate, test, troubleshoot and resolve web security production system issues

Required skills and experience

• Work in the US time zone

• The ideal candidate will have true startup spirit and be willing to wear multiple hats and deliver end-to-end solutions in a dynamic fast-paced environment

• 8+ years of analyst/operation/customer support experience working in the areas web security, URL filtering, URL categorization, web reputation, malware analyst/detection, threat intelligence, Web threat hunting/sourcing

• Knowledgeable in web content identification/classification (malicious, non-malicious with proper category)

• Experienced in tools and technologies involved in web threat detection (e.g. heuristics, regular-expression, rules)

• SRE/Devops/testing experience is a plus

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality and ability to execute and willing to work with flexible time

• Familiarity with security tools and frameworks (e.g., VirusTotal, Whois, URLScan, Threat Intelligence feeds).

• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure, especially during off-hours.

Education

• BSCS or equivalent required
