Our Client

Our client is a global, publicly traded SaaS leader dedicated to digitizing the service economy through vertically tailored software solutions. Serving over 700,000 customers worldwide, they provide mission-critical platforms for the Home, Health, and Wellness industries. This role specifically supports their Invoicing and Fintech vertical, which empowers freelancers and contractors globally to manage payments, scheduling, and business operations through high-scale digital tools.

Job Summary

The Staff Solutions Architect is a high-influence technical leadership role responsible for the long-term evolution of a global invoicing ecosystem. You will serve as the primary architectural authority, driving the modernization of backend services and ensuring the scalability and resiliency of distributed systems. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution, reducing technical debt while establishing the engineering standards that will govern a unified, multi-product platform.

Responsibilities

• Drive high-level architectural decisions across distributed systems and scalable microservices.

• Lead backend re-architecture initiatives to transition legacy systems into a unified, resilient ecosystem.

• Improve system-wide scalability, observability, and performance to support global user growth.

• Direct the design and performance tuning of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis environments.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define the long-term technical roadmap and strategy.

• Raise the bar for engineering excellence by mentoring senior engineers and implementing best practices for CI/CD, security, and maintainability.

• Design and support complex integrations that unify multiple invoicing products into a single, seamless experience.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• Must Have:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on high-scale systems.

• 6+ years of expert-level, hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Extensive background in designing and scaling Microservices and Distributed Systems.

• Deep expertise in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, including advanced database optimization strategies.

• Extensive experience building scalable REST APIs for both web and mobile-first consumers.

• Experience driving organizational technical strategy and managing complex architectural discussions.

• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and backend performance tuning.

Preferred Expertise:

• Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Solutions Architect.

• Experience in Fintech, Invoicing, or Payments platforms within B2B SaaS environments.

• Experience merging multiple products/platforms into a unified backend architecture.

• Familiarity with distributed tracing, logging, monitoring, and modern security best practices.

• Knowledge of distributed tracing, logging, and advanced monitoring best practices.

• Experience managing high-scale, multi-tenant SaaS environments supporting mobile products.

• Exposure to React.js and Tailwind CSS is a plus.
