We are searching for a skilled Staff Software Engineer with Go (Golang) expertise to support our IONOS Cloud team. This crucial role centers on building, advancing, and refining our cloud solutions, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and seamlessly integrated into our broader service offerings. This pivotal role focuses on crafting, evolving, and optimizing our cloud solutions ensuring they are robust, scalable, and seamlessly integrated into our wider service offerings.

Tasks

• Design and develop high-quality, maintainable, and robust Go applications specifically tailored to cloud functionalities such as storage, computing, and networking services.

• Spearhead all phases of the software development cycle from concept to deployment, specifically focusing on cloud-based solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and cloud architects to design and implement features that improve the scalability and performance of the IONOS Cloud.

• Ensure production-readiness of services and operate them on the production environment with high availability; conduct rigorous testing and debugging practices to ensure highly reliable and fault-tolerant software.

• Offering technical guidance and thought leadership to foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in the development of cloud-oriented projects; provide mentorship to junior engineers, advocating for best practices in software development and specific techniques in cloud-based solutions.

• Evaluate and incorporate new technologies and software engineering tools into existing platforms to improve service reliability and speed of delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional programming experience, with a strong background in Java-based backend development and at least 3 years dedicated to Go (Golang).

• Strong background in developing and maintaining cloud services, with proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

• Profound knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker, along with microservices architecture.

• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, especially in an Agile environment.

Nice-to-have:

• Strong analytical skills, with a proven track record in problem-solving and technical innovation.

• Familiarity with cloud security protocols, data encryption, and secure software development.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of leading discussions and projects within a multicultural environment.
