The Role

Be at the forefront of building the modern data platform at Addepar!

Addepar is hiring a hands-on staff engineer who will bring technical vision to build the core infrastructure and toolings for the modern data platform of Addepar.

Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country where this role is based on the first day of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You’ll Do

• Take on a large amount of scope and act independently by working in partnership with engineering, product, analyst, and operations platform users to identify requirements and priorities, and map out solutions for challenging technology and workflow problems

• Make Addepar’s Data Lakehouse the central financial data hub at Addepar by establishing integrations across all of our infrastructure and systems in multiple geographic regions

• Build out and scale a green-field complementary messaging layer that works side-by-side with the lakehouse and facilitates more complex workflows on the platform

• Act as a technical lead in Singapore partnering with several high-performing teams of engineers who can design, develop, and deploy data lakehouse solutions, with you empowering anyone from all ranges of technical experience at Addepar who want to build on our platforms

• Work with PySpark on Databricks for distributed data processing tasks, PostgresSQL for serving & scaling access to data, terraform for managing all our AWS infrastructure, and a blend of Python or Java for serverless AWS lambda-based utilities or custom micro-services respectively to fill the gaps in-between

Who You Are

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in data platform development and management, with a strong foundation in distributed processing patterns, cloud infrastructure, and data modeling

• A confident and positive outlook with low ego; high degree of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working in a cloud context, with automated infrastructure and service-oriented architecture

• A product and customer oriented mindset with a penchant for navigating ambiguity and loose requirements

• Practical knowledge of agile practices with an outlook that prioritises experimentation and iteration combined with an ability to guide teams toward activities and processes that facilitate optimal outcomes
