We are building the data platform for blockchain, cryptocurrency, and web3. Our engineers deeply understand what is possible with cloud-native technologies and use those insights to enable our customers to push the boundaries of the cryptocurrency landscape. 

Our Alterya team is focused on AI-powered fintech and threat intelligence, empowering institutions to protect individuals from fraud transactions. We're currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer who will join a core team of experienced developers building production-grade backend services, data solutions, infrastructure, and data collection capabilities in a multi-cloud, hybrid SAAS infrastructure that supports production.

The role will be based in Tel Aviv, and we are looking for eager, enthusiastic, curious, hard working and positive people to be part of our amazing journey.

In this job, you'll:

• Design and implement scalable microservices using Python 3.10+ and FastAPI

• Build event-driven systems using Google Cloud Pub/Sub for real-time data processing

• Develop RESTful APIs

• Create data processing pipelines

• Implement machine learning integration for fraud detection and risk scoring

• Implement database strategies using PostgreSQL with SQLAlchemy 2.0 and Alembic migrations

• Design event-driven workflows with message queues and async processing

• Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, Sentry, Prometheus Graphana

• Integrate with data warehouses including Snowflake and BigQuery

• Build ETL pipelines for blockchain data (Ethereum, Bitcoin) and social media APIs

• Implement vector search using Google Cloud AI Platform and semantic matching

• Develop decision-making systems for automated fraud detection

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Python 3.10+ with strong experience in async/await patterns

• FastAPI and Pydantic for API development

• SQLAlchemy 2.0 with async support and complex ORM relationships

• PostgreSQL with advanced query optimization and database design

• The ability to be independent and proactive, as well as a team player

• Great communication. Able to simplify a complex idea as well as collaborate effectively with others

• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility over their work and tasks

Nice to have experience:

• 2+ years of Experience in GCP/AWS architecture

• Contributes to open source projects
