Anchor QEA is a water related environmental and engineering company focusing on the protection and restoration of coastlines, the development of port and harbor infrastructure, marina improvements, and navigation related projects. Experience with coastal engineering concepts such as beneficial use of dredged material, shoreline protection, living shorelines, marsh restoration, and engineering with nature and nature based solutions are preferred. Experience with water resources concepts such as hydrology, water quality, and dam removal are also preferred, as is proficiency using CAD, GIS, and/or programming languages, such as python.
Anchor QEA is currently looking for a Staff Coastal Engineer with 0-3 years of experience in coastal engineering and design for our Corpus Christi or Rockport, Texas office.
Responsibilities:
Support engineering design projects with a focus on the coastal environment
Assist in developing data collection plans for surveying, geotechnical exploration, and environmental data
Conduct analysis and numerical modeling of coastal processes such as currents, waves, storm surge, sediment transport, morphology, and wave-current-structure interaction.
Perform engineering analysis, preliminary, and detail design of coastal and marine facilities
Assist in developing plans, specifications, and construction documents on projects
Perform costs estimating on projects during the design phase
Work with sub-consultants and team members and assure quality control of work throughout project execution
Periodic construction oversight for regional projects
Support report and technical memorandum development
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Coastal, Civil and/or Ocean Engineering or related field
Demonstrated engineering design experience
Demonstrated technical and analytical skills
Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills
Familiarity with industry standard analysis and design software
Ability to be PE licensed in Texas within 4 years of hire.
Post-graduate degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil Engineering with a focus on Coastal Engineering
Engineering design experience in ports, harbors, marinas, boat launch facilities, and/or coastal engineering or construction industry
Coastal engineering design such as beach nourishment, marsh creation, living shorelines, breakwaters, bulkheads, dredging, and dredge material management
Harbor structure design such as jetties, offloading structures, berthing and mooring structures
Coastal resource agency coordination
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
Flexibility to travel regionally
Proficiency in MS Office
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus
ArcGIS experience a plus
Python experience a plus
Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary and Other Compensation:
Annual Bonus

Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
