Staff Accountant (Sage Intacct) Client-Facing - exciting remote opportunity!

• Reports to Senior Accountant
• 6–12-month contract
• 4-6 hour US EST overlap
About the position
The Staff Accountant provides hands-on accounting support with a primary focus on general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The role prioritises accuracy, compliance, and strong technical accounting fundamentals over analytical reporting. Experience with Sage Intacct and a solid command of debits and credits are critical requirements.
Required Education and Experience
• 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) is beneficial
• Proficient with Sage Intacct is a requirement (experience with other Sage products will not be considered equivalent).
Preferred Education and Experience
• Certified Public Accountant.
• Prior experience with QuickBooks, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, BILL, or ADP would be beneficial.
• Prior experience in public accounting or another professional services organization.
Essential Functions
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform detailed general ledger reconciliations
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Validate supporting documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve or escalate issues as needed
• Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll support, and bank reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls
• Utilize accounting systems to perform accurate data entry and maintain proper documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting and reporting objectives
• Meet firm productivity, utilization, and training requirements
