POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Social Services at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles serves as a vital leader within the organization, overseeing the social services department and ensuring patients receive compassionate, comprehensive support throughout their treatment journey. This role is dedicated to addressing the emotional, social, and environmental needs of patients while promoting positive outcomes and continuity of care.
In this leadership position, the Director of Social Services supervises and supports social workers and case managers, oversees psychosocial assessments, and helps develop individualized treatment and discharge plans tailored to each patient’s needs. They work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient care, connect patients and families with appropriate community resources, and advocate for overall patient well-being and long-term success.
The Director also plays an important role in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and supporting the development of programs and services that improve patient outcomes and strengthen the continuum of care.
This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of behavioral health and social service systems. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
License: Licensed through the State by the Regulatory Body that is vested to bestow licensure to Social Workers
Experience: One year experience performing duties as a Social Worker in a Behavioral Health setting
