Job Overview:

Offsite Brand Ads team is looking for a Sr Staff Backend Engineer to tech lead the Ad Exchange and RTB domain, connect Brand Ads DSPs to multiple SSPs. Offsite Brand Ads is the new bet from Coupang Ads. With Coupang’s strong growth on e-commerce, there is mission for Offsite Brand Ads team to bring in Coupang family apps, other SSPs and build the new generation of Ad Exchange server to connect them with multiple DSPs.

We are looking for candidate has very strong leadership skills, can fast learn new technologies. Be able to design/propose new architecture considering the end-to-end process of the application in charge of, to connect both brand ads demand and supply. Make value contributions for both parties. Keep evolving and optimize performance through machine learning and other AI technologies.

What You Will do:

We are looking for passionate senior leader in Ads domain, especially Ad Exchange domain to build highly scalable, low latency online systems. You will be working together with Brand Ads management team for DSP and ads campaign setup, working together with Brand Ads Serving team for all signals exchange and optimization. You are responsible for maximizing the return of vendors’ investment on Brand Ads and drive Brand Ads revenue.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field

• 8 years of solid work with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems

• 8 years of coding experience in Java, Go, C++ or other strong types coding languages

• Hands-on experience in leading team to build large scale real-time service

• Successful experience of building large scale ad system

• Fluent speaking and writing in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years’ experience with handling large data volumes in a distributed environment.

• Senior tech leader for E2E ads system. Self-motived and self-driving. Can influence without authority, and work with product manager, back-end engineer, MLE and data scientist to build new ads systems.

• Rich experience with service-oriented architecture and web application/services development

• Rich experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)

• Successful experience in building Ad Exchange, RTB systems, or audience network etc

• Strong communication skills for interfacing with technical teams, business stakeholders,
and end users

• Familiarity with Agile development practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD
pipelines

• Proven ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional, fast-paced environments

• Experience managing mission-critical services with high throughput and low latency

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $324,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
