At Roblox, the Foundation team defines and builds our design language and system that powers every product experience across our platform. As a Sr. Product Designer on Design Systems, you will shape and scale Foundation UI (our shared set of primitives, tokens, components, patterns, and guidance) enabling teams to design and ship with greater quality, consistency, and speed.

You’ll partner closely with product designers and engineers to capture needs, audit existing experiences, and integrate the system into features from discovery through launch. Your work will help every product team move with confidence, knowing they’re building on a foundation designed for performance, accessibility, and craft.

You have a systematic approach to design, proficient foundation in tools like Figma, and a passion for enabling others to work more efficiently and effectively. You will report to the Head of Visual & Design Systems.

You Will:

• Set direction for Foundation UI across primitives, components, patterns, tokens and guidelines (with clear contribution and governance).

• Partner deeply with product, engineering, and research to integrate the system into real features.

• Define quality bars for accessibility, performance, and craft, and ensure the coded system meets them.

• Create actionable documentation and examples that make adoption easy for teams across Roblox.

• Identify gaps from product needs, then prioritize and land roadmap updates to the system.

• Mentor and unblock designers working with Foundation UI, building shared understanding and strong habits.

• Communicate strategy and progress clearly to partners and leadership.

You Have:

• 8+ years in product design with significant time building or leading a design system at scale.

• A portfolio that shows system definition (primitives, components, tokens), real product integration, and measurable outcomes.

• High fluency in Figma (libraries, tokens, variants, file architecture) and comfort partnering through implementation.

• Strong systems thinking, crisp documentation skills, and practical accessibility knowledge.

• Experience aligning multiple teams and driving adoption in complex organizations.

You Are:

• Strategic and systematic in your approach to design, with a strong eye for detail, scalability, and visual quality.

• Sensitive to visual design craft and committed to ensuring components and patterns meet a high-quality bar.

• Comfortable leading initiatives and aligning multiple teams around a shared system vision.

• Skilled at balancing long-term system health with immediate product needs.

• Open to feedback and effective at influencing across disciplines and seniority levels.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range
$213,660—$254,470 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
