The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support for growing Oracle Spatial needs and implementing Oracle Statewide Standards.

Job Description

Position: Senior Oracle 11g/12c Spatial DBA

Location: Lansing, MI

Duration: 12 months

Skills Required

· Experience with Oracle Spatial

· Provide support for growing Oracle Spatial needs, including installation, tuning and trouble shooting

· Assist in the implementation of Oracle Statewide Standards

· Experience with Oracle 11g , 12c

· Working knowledge of DDL, DML, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints and cursors

· Proficiency with Oracle performance tuning

· Proficiency with database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN…..

· Ability to analyze and design physical databases and their definitions

· Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing

· Experience with installation, configuration and upgrades of vendor-supplied software, including contacting vendor on enhancements and problems.

· Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities

· Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills

· Able to work independently and deliver high quality results when given a set of requirements

· Experience with Oracle on Solaris

Skills Preferred

· Experience managing databases up to 10+ TB

· Knowledge of Shell Scripting

· Knowledge of EMC and NetApp SAN hardware

· Knowledge/Experience with database appliances

· Data guard, compression, backup tools.

Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field appropriate for the assignment plus five years of experience.

· 1+ years’ experience with spatial models and algorithms

· 2-4 years Oracle Spatial programming experience

· 3-7 years Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming experience

BS Degree
